Writing about yourself is hard. Much harder than writing books about strong heroines and sizzling chemistry. But here goes.
10 Things You Might Like (or not) About Me:
- After writing (and reading), my favourite thing to do is travel, especially to countries where the history is deep (see point 2).
- I love history, most specifically the Ancient Egyptian kind, but just about any history will do in a pinch.
- It is a fact little acknowledged that the most important meal of the day is dessert. And the best desserts always include meringue.
- I would love be able to speak French, but have no talent for languages. Je suis tres triste!
- I firmly believe sleeping in is the only acceptable use for mornings.
- Not much makes you feel as good as a long walk on the beach, regardless of the weather.
- A large proportion of my favourite authors are called Kate, which seems suspicious - someone should do a thesis on whether Kate is the best name for an author.
- If I had to choose a favourite book, it would change on a daily basis. But it’s highly likely to have been written by a Kate (See point 7).
- I have an unhealthy fear of cauliflower (see point 3).
- I cried the first time I saw an elephant in the wild. And my children still tease me about it. In my defence it was a mother and her baby, so...
I live in Sydney with my husband, two of my three grown children, a couple of cats and some very demanding kookaburras.
